Gibson L-00 Sunburst 1930's
Straight from the hands of an olde-tyme jazz guitarist, this early 1930's L-00 has more character than most. With its mahogany body, spruce sunburst top, rosewood fretboard and firestripe turtle-shell pick guard, this instrument doubles as a piece of art. The guitar has a bright upper voice and the slightly muffled low-end that gives an unmistakable sound characteristic of classic vintage records, giving beautiful nuances to any style of playing. Along with the expected wear of a well-loved vintage guitar, there are also some remnants of previous body work present. There are a couple of drilled holes on the back of the headstock, presumably where a strap button was installed and removed. A similar small hole is seen on the top of the body, along with an engraved "K" on the bridge. Despite these minor flaws, the instrument has retained its beauty throughout the years, with the original sunburst finish shining through its age. With a medium-low action and easy playability, this guitar is sure to be a wonderful addition to any collection.
Note: the exact year cannot be determined, as the serial number is very faded from time. It appears to be "254," but cannot be confirmed.
